The Luvmenauts’ 2021 soundtrack-influenced album, In Space, the score to an empyreal journey through an alternate universe, is available in sample pack format exclusively on WhoSampled Crates. Recorded directly to 1/8” tape, this lo-fi excursion combines untamed monosynths, transistor organs, drippy verb’d out guitar, piles of percussion, and exotic ephemera. In Space features performances by Grammy Award-winning saxophonist Leland Whitty (BADBADNOTGOOD) and in-demand session guitarist Adam Beer-Colacino (JV’s Boogaloo Squad, Mordechai Mendoza).

About The Luvmenauts:

The Luvmenauts are an eclectic Toronto-based collective dedicated to paying homage to the sounds of the past. They draw inspiration from film composers like Janko Nilovic, Piero Umiliani, and Alan Hawkshaw; while holding their sound accountable to the countless, forgotten dollar-bin, library music gems. The Luvmenauts have released three full-length LPs, running the gamut from psychedelic surf to spaghetti western. The band has been contributing their genre-defying sounds to film and television and can be heard on CBC Radio, Discovery Channel, Viceland, History Channel, and Netflix. Their diverse sound has allowed them to share the stage with artists such as Seun Kuti and Asiko Afrobeat Ensemble.
