About Barry Beats
Cornwall's premier beatmaker, the unassuming Barry Beats, became an internet sensation when his unofficial contribution to Mass Appeal's 'Rhythm Roulette' video series went viral back in 2017. The 'Crass Appeal' spoof saw Barry scouring the charity shops of the UK's South West for sample material and then using it to cook up certified heat in his unconventional take on the popular video series. 

Heads will know however that Barry (aka Si Spex of production duo The Creators) had an enviable production resumé long before internet notoriety came knocking. All the way back in 1994 The Creators were making waves with an official remix of Nas classic 'It Ain't Hard to Tell' featured on the UK release of the revered rapper's breakthrough single. The duo's year 2000 LP 'The Weight' was a standard setting producer-focused album that featured contributions from Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Consequence, Madlib, Dilated Peoples, and Craig G among others. Subsequent solo work has included the sample-heavy cut and paste triumph ‘Fly Like a Seagull’ and joint releases with Mark Pritchard alias Harmonic 33.
