The grooves on Rhodium Breaks are, like their namesake, the precious metal Rhodium, rare and precious. This hybrid drum / composition pack fuses the heaviest drum breaks with Funk, Jazz, Hip Hop, Soul and Ambient instrumentation. All of the tracks are heavily influenced by Rare Grooves and Funk, featuring incredible live drum work, all captured on vintage analogue equipment at The Quatermass Sound Lab and engineered by Malcolm Catto (Heliocentrics). To further refine that classic sound, Mike uses a vintage Fender Jazz Bass on all of the tracks together with a late 1960’s Gibson 335 for those classic guitar tones. The weighty drum breaks in this pack appear at tempos between 83BPM to 116BPM, perfect for achieving an authentic Boom Bap drum sound. About Mike Bandoni:

Mike Bandoni is a UK based, Musician, Composer and Producer. Principally known for his Funk and breakbeat drum skills, he also plays a variety of other instruments too which can be heard on this sample pack. Mike has released material for labels including Acid Jazz, KayDee Records, Skyline Recordings, P Vine (Japan) and Funk Night Records among others. As Bandleader, Co producer, Writer and drummer for UK heavy weights Funkshone, he has also been a key player in the modern Funk and Soul scene and was also the drummer in the BBC 6 Music DJ Craig Charles' 'Fantasy Funk Band' alongside Ernie McKone, James Taylor, Snowboy, The Haggis Horns, Dionne Charles and others. Mike has worked with artists including Lisa Stansfield, Beverly Knight, Kenny Dope, Omar, Pat Kane (Hugh and Cry), Mick Tabot (Paul Weller, Style Council), Mark Vandergucht (Galliano) and Chad Jackson.
